At just 13 years old, Nicolas began working to help his family. Now, at 47, he runs multiple businesses — all while raising six children. With the help of CEVI, Nicolas was able to rebuild after Typhoon Yolanda, invest in his businesses, and, most importantly, keep his children in school. Today, two of them are in college, and his dream is to keep growing so he can give his family an even better life.

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Leoncio Vallenas, longtime CEVI clients from Moalboal, Cebu! Their journey with CEVI began in 2002 with a modest ₱5,000 loan to start a small piggery and sari-sari store. While Mr. Vallenas worked as a taxi driver, Ate Norma faithfully attended cluster meetings on his behalf.
