Community Economic Ventures, Inc. (CEVI) joins the World Water Day Celebration on March 22, 2017 with a quick tour at Bohol Water Utilities, Inc. (BWUI).

World Water Day is an annual event initiated by the United Nations every 22nd of March. Every year, UN highlights important topics of universal access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene facilities. This year’s theme is about “Wastewater” and looks at wastewater as a resource and not waste.

To participate this year’s theme, CEVI staff went meatless for a day as their way of reducing wastewater. Studies found that growing and consuming meat products require more water compared to grains and vegetables.

Other activities initiated by CEVI staff includes conducting an activity that appreciates the less than 1% of earth’s water available for human consumption and discuss methods that can conserve this critical resource.
