Meet our Executive Director

RAMIL R. TAN is the Executive Director of Community Economic Ventures, Inc. (CEVI), a Microfinance Organization in the Philippines.

Executive Director Tan brings with him more than 25 years of extensive experience focusing in organizational development and operations, business and community relations, business development, consultancies and legal and administration from various corporate entities in the Philippines and abroad.

Among his most notable engagements were the following:

Executive Director of the Social Action Foundation for Rural and Urban Development (SAFRUDI) and Social Action for Filipino Youth (SAFFY) – both are members of the World Fair Trade Organizations (WFTO) based in Europe.

Executive Director of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE), the only professional organization of electrical practitioners duly recognized by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) of the Republic of the Philippines. During his incumbency, IIEE becomes the Most Outstanding Professional Organization in the Philippines, ISO Certified on Quality Management and provides the greatest number of programs to its members.

Executive Director, Office of the President of the Philippines. He was assigned to head the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC). Awarded Bayani ng Ilog for his accomplishments in the PRRC and became known internationally through his “convergence” initiatives – collating and linking interest of stakeholders in the Philippines and abroad and coming up with programs of great social impact and interest.

He is instrumental in bringing to the Philippines substantial investments and grants from the French Government in 2016 as well as other programs from the different part of the globe. He introduced the 1st ever Sisterhood Agreement between the Pasig River System and the Los Angeles River in the United States of America in 2016 thereby paving the way for a mutually beneficial exchange of technology, financing and programs between the two entities. In India, Australia and Spain, the same programs and activities were introduced by Executive Director Ramil Tan linking the best practices of convergence as it applies to specific set-up to revolutionize people’s perceptions and participation in caring for the environment. The sequences of events and presentations on how the “convergence processes” was made successful in the country puts the Philippines in the international map of river rehabilitation and development, maintenance and sustainability.

Ramil R. Tan started his career as a Legal Officer for Philippine Trust Company (PHILTRUST BANK), and earned his way up the corporate ladder by sheer hard work and determination. He worked as Vice-President for Administration of the ABP-Bicolnon; Executive Director, Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of the ATI Group of Companies. Tan practically travelled the world when he joined Horizons International Network (Canada) as Legal Officer to the Middle East with assignments covering Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Toronto, Ontario, Canada and as Legal and HRD Officer of the TFI Group of Companies in San Francisco, California, United States of America.

an earned his AB Economics and Political Science Degree from St. Joseph’s College, Quezon City as a state scholar. Thereafter, he studied Law in San Sebastian College Recoletos- Manila where he was a Dean’s Lister and Chairman of the Student Electoral Board. He has Certificate in Local Legislative Development from the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG) of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. He also has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Northern Philippines.
